Guinea Gold has charming caramel colored flowers, speckled with cinnamon. It has the classic Martagon candelabra form with small nodding turk's cap flowers and whorled leaves. Interesting pink buds. This lily is somewhat reminiscent of the old Mrs. R.A. Backhouse, which is now extinct in commercial distribution. Guinea Gold was derived from L. martagon crossed with various Asian native species, such as L. Hansonii. Quite shade tolerant, tall and very floriferous. Martagons are apt to wait until the second season in the ground to emerge. Bulb size is 14/16.
