LILY PAD SHOW SCHEDULE for 2010
We invite you to pay us a visit at our various shows this season. Our knowledgeable staff takes pleasure in providing information and cultural advice regarding our product line. We can show you around the booth and help you find suitable items for your individual gardening needs. It is also a fine opportunity for you to shop our “show specials”, which provide substantial discounts over our regular catalog price. Some of these are not advertised, but are based upon overstock from our harvest. Some we will mention in the following list of shows.
Please visit us EARLY to get the best selection. Also, you owe it to yourself to comparison-shop before overpaying elsewhere in the show. We are approachable to “meet-or beat” verifiable pricing on anything of identical name and size grade, on the show floor. Our quality and selection is first-rate on Lilies, Daylilies, Peonies, and Tree Peonies.
You will recognize our booth by overhead green-leaf canopies and the sound of Spring Frogs. We hope you will not be confused by vendors imitating our photo package design.
JAN. 22-24: GOOD EARTH SHOW
Eugene, OR. Lane County Fairgrounds. We are located in the “Good Garden” section and have expanded our display for this show. We will carry an impressive array of Lily bulbs, Daylilies, and various types of Peonies, as well as some special bare-root perennials. This show catches us a little early, thus we will be missing some of the items featured on our website. We do plan to offer some show specials, and bulb combos, at a good discount. Namely, we have some beautiful “BULZ-ZILLA” stock, which we will be discounting. Our “All season economy one-pound bag of bulbs (at least 10 bulbs per bag) represent the non-standard size bulbs from Fall harvest, which we plan to offer for a fraction of the original catalog price. These are mostly blooming-size bulbs and will give you a great start on a world-class lily garden on a shoestring!. In keeping with this “green” show we’ll be selling some of our Earth-friendly gardening products, which we strongly recommend to fellow lily-gardeners. This show has free parking and free admission with a food bank donation at the door.

WHY SPRING SALES OF LILY BULBS IS NOT A BAD THING.
One rumor circulating is that Spring sales of bulbs is BAD. We market bulbs into early June. From experience as cut flower growers AND as gardeners, we can assure you that this is a very feasible and rewarding manner in which to obtain spectacular bloom at a time little else is happeneing, i.e, September and even October if you want to push your luck. OUR POLICY IS FULL DISCLOSURE in marketting bulbs in the Spring. If the bulbs are a little sprouted, we discount them accordingly and point out the disadvantages of over-sprouted bulbs. We absolutely won't sell anything that's only fit for livestock fodder, and certainly never aim to deceive the customer For late planting of cooler-stored bulbs, we find these totally appropriate for gardening purposes, by observing a few simple growing tips, which we share with our customers at the point of sale. .There is a chance of cutting short the growing cycle if planted very late, however this does not desroy the bulbs. It may put them a bit out of phase for a year, but patient gardeners will be rewarded in time with a perennial planting of lilies, no matter how late they are planted. Consider how much money gardeners spend on their ANNUAL ornamentals for the late season, knowing full well they will never be seen again beyond that season. Compare this expense with the cost of a $2.00 or $3.00 lily, which has the potential to beautify your garden in 60 to 120 days, and the added benefit of returning in following years, with just a minimum of upkeep and patience. -Even WITHOUT the added perennial benefit, this is not any worse an outcome than buying potted annuals every year for late-season beauty.
As always, our bulbs are guaranteed for the purchase price, if they do not perform as we describe. Certain performance disqualifiers are imposed in the case of drastically discounted bulbs.
